Knoxville-area native Elaine Hendrix will have a nail-biting week ahead.
She's waiting to hear if the pilot in which she co-stars, ABC's "American Judy," will get a series order. The network will announce on Tuesday its intentions for the 2012-2013 season.
"American Judy" stars Judy Greer ("Archer") as a newlywed suburban housewife who struggles to raise her step-kids, deal with her mother-in-law and stay out of the line of fire of her husband's ex-wife, who is also the town sheriff.
Hendrix plays the gun-toting ex-wife.
Ken Marino will star as Greer's husband.
The series is based on Greer's real-life events.
Hendrix, 41, was born in Oak Ridge and raised in Morristown. She still has relatives in the Knoxville area and comes home around the holidays for visits.
Her passion is helping animal activism.
Her acting credits include "Joan of Arcadia," "Friends," "Ellen," "Charmed" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." She had a recurring role in "Married ... with Children."
nMore 'Inside' news. Another television talent with Knoxville ties will be featured on "Inside the Actor's Studio" (7 p.m. today Bravo).
The cast of "Mad Men" — including Knoxville native Christina Hendricks — is interviewed about their show's incredible success.
Hendricks was born in Knoxville when her father worked for the forestry service. The family moved soon after her birth.
On "Mad Men," Hendricks plays Joan, the no-nonsense office manager of a major advertising firm. She has been with the series since its beginning.
Her "Studio" appearance comes on the heels of former Knoxville News Sentinel reporter Ryan Murphy's visit.
Murphy was part of the show when it paid tribute to "Glee," which he co-created.
Also appearing with Hendricks on "Studio" will be Jon Hamm and other cast members of the acclaimed AMC series.
n'Wild' side. Seems like Johnny Knoxville's film career is in full swing these days. The South Knoxville native, born PJ Clapp, will co-star with Nicolas Cage in "Wild Side," which starts filming in New Orleans in July. Juno Temple will co-star, too.
Cage plays a hardened criminal who is willing to do anything to retrieve stolen diamonds.
Knoxville's role in "Wild Side" has not been explained yet.
