British guitar legend Richard Thompson recorded his new album, "Electric," at the home studio of singer-songwriter-producer Buddy Miller in Nashville. Thompson, who was named one of the "20 Greatest Guitarists" by Rolling Stone magazine. The magazine is currently streaming the first single from the album, "Good Thing Happen to Bad People."
The album is set for release on Feb. 5, 2013, on New West Records and features guest appearances by Alison Krauss, Stuart Duncan and Siobhan Maher-Kennedy.
In a press release, Miller (who recently performed at the WDVX 15th Birthday celebration) said he played rhythm guitar on the disc and "I got a two-week guitar lesson while he camped out in my house."
Thompson was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen of England's 2011 New Year Honours List and most recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting by the Americana Music Association.
