Fanboy Expo — a pop culture convention — is bringing fans together with genre celebrities today through Sunday.
Dozens of dealers selling science fiction, comics and fantasy collectibles along with related memorabilia are set up at The Jacob Building at Chilhowee Park. Celebrities booked for the show will meet and greet fans for a fee.
Appearing are actors C. Thomas Howell, Marc Singer ("The Beastmaster"), cast members of the campy zombie film "Return of the Living Dead" and extras who worked as zombies on AMC's "The Walking Dead."
Panels on how to survive a zombie apocalypse and debates on "Star Wars" vs. "Star Trek" are scheduled.
An "after party" where fans can mingle more with the stars will be at Latitude 35 on Market Square Saturday night. A deejay and a costume contest will be part of the evening.
Comic book artists will have their work on display and some will do original commission sketches. Rates vary for original pieces.
Fan Boy hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $20 for single-day passes. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult. (Limit two children per adult.)
