Ted Hall, former news anchor for WBIR, Channel 10, is returning to Knoxville where he will join the local CBS affiliate WVLT, Channel 8.
In a post on his Facebook page Monday, Hall says: "Now the announcement I am thrilled to make. The Hall family is moving back to East Tennessee! We will miss the great friends we made here in Atlanta but it's time to follow our hearts and move back Home! Looking forward to joining the growing success of the news team on WVLT-TV in late January!"
Hall spent 18 years in local news and sports at WBIR. During that time, Hall was recognized as one of East Tennessee's most popular news anchors in viewer polls and contests.
WVLT Executive VP and General Manager Chris Baker said in a press statement: "We are excited that Ted is joining our Local 8 News Team. He embodies so many of the key attributes that are important to our community, and to our local news philosophy. He’s a veteran news professional with an infectious passion for local news and community service, yet he also understands the importance of putting faith and family first. He is excited about joining a news team that shares those values and is looking forward to taking a leadership role in the expanded local commitment we are making to our viewers. Clearly Ted is a great complement to what is already an outstanding team."
Hall will be leaving WXIA, the NBC affiliate in Atlanta, where he has worked for seven years.
Hall is married to wife Lesa and has three children.
