East Tennesseans winning big on 'Wheel of Fortune' this week

In a "Wheel of Fortune" episode that aired tonight, Knoxville's Kathryn Napier won big, the second consecutive night an area person was the show's top winner.

According to wbir.com, Tim Hundley of Friendsville won some $51,000 in cash and prizes on the Wednesday episode of the game show - including a $30,000 prize for solving the final puzzle.

Napier could have duplicated Hundley's feat: $30,000 was also at stake for tonight's final puzzle, "Lightweight jacket," though she couldn't solve it in time.

Still, Napier dominated the episode, winning a $7,014 trip to Hawaii by solving the puzzle "Having a blast wish you were here" and $10,850 for "Getting the hang of it."

Napier's overall winnings for the evening totaled $25,864.

She was accompanied to the show by her mother, two sisters and boyfriend, who were shown in the audience before Napier attempted to solve the last puzzle.

"Wheel of Fortune" airs at 7 p.m. weekdays on WBIR-TV, Channel 10.
