Williams-Sonoma’s culinary events

The following culinary events will be held at Williams-Sonoma, 7600 Kingston Pike, during the month of March.

Free technique classes: “Time saving tips to prepare healthy dinners in under 30 minutes” (1 p.m., March 3); “Fresh Herbs: Easy ways to grow your own harvest” (1 p.m., March 10); and “How to poach the perfect egg,” as well as brunch recipes (1 p.m., March 24).

Seed-starting workshop: An introduction to edible gardening (noon, March 17), including discussion of planting zones, seasons and hands-on seed starting. Fee is $10, which will be donated to the nonprofit agency, Edible Schoolyard Project. Heirloom seeds, soil and starter pots will be provided with each attendee taking home five seed starts.

Another Taste of ABC’s “The Taste” demo: A re-creation of favorite recipes that appeared on “The Taste,” (1 p.m. March 9) will be demonstrated by local store personnel using Williams-Sonoma products. This is a free event.

Cooking classes: “Dinner for Two,” (6-8 p.m. March 19), with a menu of creamy asparagus soup with seared scallops; chicken in tarragon sauce; parsley leaf potatoes; and pistachio carrot cakes with brown sugar cream cheese frosting ($45); and “Spicy Thai,” (6-8 p.m. March 28), with a menu of Thai-style salmon cakes with spicy honey-lime dressing; and red curry chicken with vegetables; Kaffir lime coconut rice; and Thai creme caramel ($45).
