NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A giant guitar that was supposed to drop down a pole to ring in 2011 in Nashville got stuck 10 feet above the zero mark.
The following year, a lighted musical note did not even make it that far.
So it must have been a relief to the "Bash on Broadway" organizers at the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau when this year's musical note made it all the way to the bottom at the stroke of midnight.
The Tennessean reports (http://tnne.ws/RrJk2i) about 50,000 people turned out for the fourth annual downtown festival despite rain and cold weather.
The event featured more than five hours of live music and a fireworks show.
