The community is invited to help with the restructuring of garden beds at CAC Beardsley Community Farm from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14. The farm is located at 1719 Reynolds St.
On Friday, Jan. 25, “Snow Day 2013: A CAC Beardsley Community Farm Benefit,” will be held from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at Barley’s, 200 East Jackson Ave. The fundraiser will include a soup competition, with entrants to include Just Ripe, Tootsie Truck, Bistro at the Bijou, Organicism Farms and the Knox County School’s Nutrition Department. Bread will be provided by Flour Head Bakery. A silent auction, live music and a beard growing competition will also be held. Admission is $7 with an additional $3 soup ticket. Proceeds benefit Beardsley Farm.
