This Tuesday (Jan. 8), Chuy's, 9235 Kingston Pike, will celebrate Elvis Presley's 78th birthday with food specials, giveaways and commemorative T-shirts.
The jailhouse-theme birthday bash will offer special pricing on its Elvis Green Chile Fried Chick and the Elvis Presley Memorial Combo. Folks who come dressed as The King (or even Priscilla) will receive their entree for free.
Also available will be giveaways including a guitar pick, temporary tattoos and souvenir cups (available with purchase of a margarita or Blue Hawaiian). Limited edition T-shirts will be available all day.
According to a press release, the restaurant's love of Elvis began in 1982 when Chuy's opened its first location in Austin, Texas. With little money for decor, the eatery's founders found a $20 velvet Elvis to hang on the walls, which then led to customers donating their Elvis memorbilia. Elvis shrines have been constructed at Chuy's locations ever since.
