Fans of music star Shakira and soccer star Gerard Piqué can help celebrate the impending birth of the couple's baby by helping out other babies around the world.

Shakira, a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, and her boyfriend Pique are inviting fans and friends to join in an online baby shower, which will benefit less fortunate children.

In a statement released on Jan. 16 Shakira said: “To celebrate the arrival of our first child, we hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” reads the invitation from Shakira and Gerard. “Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”

Fans can visit a "virtual living room," where they can learn about child survival and purchase gifts that will be given to in-need babies around the world. Cost for the gifts range from $5, which can buy a mosquito net for children in malaria-prone areas, $10 polio vaccines, and other items to help children survive in in-danger areas. The most expensive item is $110 for a food product that the save acutely malnourished children.

According to UNICEF, malnourishment is one of the major causes of child death around the world.
