Blake Shelton to perform in Knoxville in September

Country star Blake Shelton will perform on Friday, Sept. 27, at Thompson-Boling Arena. Shelton has been a country hitmaker since his song "Austin" went to No. 1 on the Billboard Country Singles chart. His string of hits has continued into the new decade with "God Gave Me You," "Honey Bee," "Drink On It" and "Over" all going to No. 1. His most recent single is "Sure Be Cool If You Did."

Shelton also acts as a coach on the TV show "The Voice" and his proteges have won the competition twice.

Easton Corbin and Jana Kramer will open the show. Ticket information is expected to be announced soon.
