The “Groovin’ for the Girls” Zumbathon benefiting Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville will take place from 2-4 p.m .Sept. 22 at the Cool Sports Home of the Icearium, 110 Watt Road. The event will feature two hours of Zumba with a variety of local instructors and music.
Register at www.gotrknoxville.org by Sept. 15 to ensure an event t-shirt. Cost is $25 for adults and $12.50 for children under 17. Tickets will also be available at the door. Water will be provided and refreshments can be purchased at the Cool Sports concession stand.
Proceeds will go to the Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville Scholarship Fund. The mission of Girls on the Run is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living using a unique 10-week learning program that combines training for a 5K run/walk event with a psychology-based curriculum.
