Knoxville-area Easter egg hunts

Local Easter egg hunts run the gamut this year, with the big bunny himself making appearances at some events.

An indoor swimming pool egg hunt at the Davis Family YMCA is sure to make a splash. The University of Tennessee Gardens ‘Eggstravaganza’ caters to children with food allergies, while Joni and Friends hosts an egg hunt for kids with disabilities. Many neighborhood churches and groups are also hosting events:

“Eggstravaganza” Easter egg hunt: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, University of Tennessee Gardens, Friendship Plaza, Chapman Drive, off Neyland Drive. Cost: $6. Crafts, the Easter Bunny; plus food-free and peanut-free hunts. For children age 12 and under. Bring basket and camera. Register by 5 p.m. April 10: http://utgardens.tennessee.edu/

Davis Family YMCA: Easter Egg Dive at the indoor pool, 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 12133 S. Northshore Drive. Easter Bunny, refreshments, and children will jump, dive, float and splash in the indoor pool for eggs: ages 0-3 years, 1:30 p.m.; 3-5 years, 1:45 p.m.; ages 5-8 years, 2 p.m. Bring a towel.
