He made it!

Knoxville's Briston Maroney is now in the Top 30 finalists in the latest season of Fox's "American Idol."

In Thursday's episode, Briston said he's been "recapping everything that's been happening," and that "there have been a lot of highlights." His previous auditions were then revisited as he awaited a visit with judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.

As he talked with Urban, Lopez and Connick Jr., Connick shared a story on how he, since age 14, had wanted to move to New York City. He then told Briston: "You're 15. That's a long way from Tennessee, not only physically but emotionally."

After a nail-biting pause, he then revealed that Briston had made the cut.

"You are a wicked man," Briston told Connick Jr., with a smile.

"American Idol" continues next Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Fox.
