There's nothing quite like a night at the opera, unless it's a Valentine's night at the opera preceded by a free meal and followed by a free hotel stay. Knoxville.com and the News Sentinel are giving one lucky couple tickets to see the Knoxville Opera's production of Donizetti's "Elixir of Love" at the Tennessee Theatre on Friday, Feb. 14, along with a $100 gift certificate for a deluxe meal at Calhoun's restaurant and an overnight stay at the Hampton Inn at 618 W. Main Street.

To enter, simply go to Facebook and "like" the Knoxville.com page or the News Sentinel Facebook page, click on the "contests" application on the page and follow the instructions to complete the registration form. When you hit the submit button it will log one entry into the sweepstakes. The contest begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.

Contest entrants must be at least 18 years old and live in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Sevier or Union County. Only one entry per person and per Facebook account will be eligible. Individuals who have won prizes from promotions sponsored by the Knoxville News Sentinel in the past 90 days are not eligible. Employees of Scripps Media and their immediate families also are not eligible to enter.

A winner will be selected in a random drawing on Friday, Feb. 7, and will be notified by e-mail shortly thereafter. If a potential winner does not respond to the notice in 48 hours the tickets will be given to an alternate winner. Winners must pick up tickets at The News Sentinel, 2332 News Sentinel Drive, Knoxville, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, by Feb. 14.

Requiring Facebook makes this a nonstarter for me.

And I'd rather have the room for another night than the opera.
