The vegetarian sandwiches are generally served on pita bread and feature main ingredients such as falafel, hummus, eggplant and yogurt in various combinations. The meat-bearing sandwiches similarly combine steak, chicken and lamb with the aforementioned pita pockets.
Diners also will find traditional American-deli-style sandwiches and burgers as well as a number of deep-fried appetizer-style items and Mediterranean salads.
Time Out Deli seats about 20 patrons in its cozy convenience-store dining area, but with friendly service, prices that average in the $4 to $6 range and hours that accommodate hungry late-night diners, this Knoxville favorite seems destined to please for more decades to come.
