Cool Beans Bar and Grill

Located just off "The Strip" by the University of Tennessee's campus, Cool Beans Bar & Grill is a hot-spot for young people and college students.

Excerpt from Knoxville.com Nightlife review:
Cool Beans has all the prerequisites for a good time - music, a wide variety of beverages, pool tables, dart boards, and a crowd. Even on the slowest nights or at the slowest of times, there's a solid crowd.

But one of the reasons I sometimes dislike the venue is its tendency to be overwhelming. It usually peaks after midnight as throngs stumble down from the Fort. As it peaks, sitting room (or even standing room) becomes sparse, the pool tables remain occupied, and the music gets rowdier and rowdier giving way to modern rap songs centered around one illogical and profane phrase and the same beat for five minutes.

Part of what keeps drawing me back is that I simply enjoy that kind of overwhelming nature, even if it's annoying to stand uncomfortably, dodging swaying frat guys wearing all orange. I enjoy seeing others falling under the Cool Beans spell. I like to remind myself of a time period gone by.
