The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center celebrates the cultural heritage of East Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains region. The gallery exhibits, educational programs, demonstrations and festivals guide visitors on a historic journey through time to visit the diverse cultures of Townsend and Tuckaleechee Cove.

Exhibits include artifacts representing Native American life, an examination of pioneer and mountain cultures, historic transportation and historic buildings, including a smokehouse, two cantilevered barns, a sawmill and granary.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and children, and free for ages 6 and under.

Located between the Townsend traffic light and the national park entrance, on Scenic Highway 73.
