A four-year private college known for its academic rigor and its focus on the liberal arts, the college offers more than 60 fields of study and has an enrollment of about 1,100 students. Founded in 1819k it is the 12th oldest institution of higher learning in the South and maintains an affiliation with the Presbyterian Church.
