If you go by the name alone, you might be tempted to just classify Niro's Gyros as a Greek-food place. But when you consider that it also serves Italian sandwiches and Chicago-style hot dogs, you begin to understand that this counter-service eatery in Farragut is more about the localized cuisine of the northern, urban U.S.

Niro's Gyros' bread and butter is the beloved Greek gyro, slices of seasoned meat wrapped up in a soft, warm pita slice with zesty tsatsiki sauce and garnished with tomato and onion. Niro's prepares several variations, including double and triple portions as well as a barbecue gyro and a veggie pita.

Prices overall lie in the $2-$5 range. Our Chicago dog rang up at $1.89, while the gyro and beef sandwich both cost $4.85. The double and triple gyros skew the price range closer to the $10 mark.
