About Amy Nolan

Biography

Amy joined the News Sentinel in 1985 after graduating from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She covered the criminal justice system and was a two-time winner of Tennessee’s Malcolm Law Award for Investigative Reporting. She moved to the paper’s Business staff in the early 1990s as a reporter covering manufacturing, real estate and economic development. As business editor, she oversaw the section’s expansion to six daily sections. She served two years as a spokeswoman for Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, before returning to edit the Business Journal.
