The funny thing is that Dolly will probably donate some of those royalties in Whitney's name. She's that stand-up a person. I worked at Dollywood in the 90's (Funnel Cakes...) and even though I hate country music and thus Dolly's music I have never seen or heard of anyone who cares more about their community (Sevier County/East TN) than Dolly. Dolly's Imagination Library gives a book every month to kids (including my almost 2 year old daughter) in most if not all of the counties in the area. Not to mention how she is probably the main reason Sevier county is a fantastic tourist trap...errr mecca.
So what if she's old and wants to use some of her scratch for some face stretching. She can't live forever, but at least she can look like she's riding in a convertible.
What happenned? Looks hilarious.
Who cares. I used to watch this show occasionally until it was a two hour show. Excrutiating to watch. Cry cry cry... run run run...cry some more. Boring. I might watch the finale. Maybe.
I watched the original V in a marathon on SyFy Sunday. It was so melodramatic; like watching Days of Our Lives with lizard aliens. It was really funny. I remember watching it as a six year old thinking it was really cool. Funny how time changes one's perspective. I might watch the new one, or at least DVR it.
Young Buck was simply showing TI how to make a shank out of a chicken bone and dental floss.
Is Gavin Rosdale wearing a Snuggie in that pic?
I saw the movie last night and really liked it. I have never read the graphic novel but I did watch some of the sneak previews and the itunes content that I got for buying my tix on fandango for the midnight Imax show.
The movie was intense to say the least. Violence? Yes. CGI frontal male nudity of Dr. Manhattan...Yes. An enjoyable and different superhero experience...absolutely.
The content is heavy and it starts pretty slow, but the characters make the movie, not the plot.
If you are looking for a typical good guy vs bad guy story, look elsewhere. I'm not sure there is a true "good" guy. Its about humans who have given themselves power and responsibility behaving humanly.
It definitely feels like a story written in 1985, but it makes some interesting points. It takes almost three hours to make those points, but it looked stunning.
