If Dr. Witherspoon was only gay, his legal problems would not plague him. Yet...
in response to Debt: So....its ok when you say that you will go more often now since there is no more sundown, but its childish when I say that I won't? You can go in my stead, sound fair?

"Childish" wasn't a good choice of words. Sorry about that.
My point is that "sundown" is neutral. I could take it or leave it. There are many other events in Market Square, and the businesses there are pretty good (some of them keep me coming back for sure). Everyone is different in their tastes. I did find the experience to be a negative one, personally, to get to the places I wanted to eat and shop during that time. But I work around it. That isn't childish, for sure, neither is avoiding crowds with bad press around it on multiple occasions.
If Tupelo Honey comes in, I do think your boycott will be short lived, especially if you go where your friends will want to go. That is good stuff!
in response to Debt: So, they're saying this has nothing to do with the businesses & people who live around the market square area complaining these last few years causing the event to become shorter and shorter? I call bullhockey, these events were great for knoxville, but knoxville is too stupid to realize it. I for one, now have zero reason to spend any cash in and around market square. To all you naysayers, I hope you're happy. This is lost revenue for your beloved knoxville. RIP Sundown, I will greatly miss you.

Nonsense. There is always Tomato Head, a great restaurant. If Tupelo Honey comes, it is a great restaurant. There is ice skating in the winter. There is Gay Street next door. Parking is generally cheap, close, and easy. There is cafe 4, who have great artists in there all the time. David Wilcox, blue plate special, etc.. It seems a bit childish to say you won't go there because of that one issue.
Heck, I stayed away from it, and now I have reason to go even more with less people around.
in response to TennVol01: I love the early Dolly. She was sweet and innocent and had the greatest country voice during her time, and even now. But, Dolly struck it rich. Then she developed a useless place named after herself....Dollywood. From that point on, I feel she got lost in the world of making money. She put on fake boobs, has plastic surgery often, and is no longer the real Dolly. The real Dolly should look like my grandma, not like a street walker with multiple wigs. Dolly...please return to us.

You sure you have your timeline right?
Young Buck. How ironic. He needs to start saving up. Obama is going to "spread the wealth". It's only going to get worse for Young Buck.
I hope he tips his hat to the haters. It's so PC to hate wealthy people, it's getting funny.
I'd go to war if I had to hear him sing "How Do You Like Me Now" and hold the last note like a sheep.... Or, perhaps if I had to hear him sing "I Love This Bar"... yuck.
You are missing the point about GG Allin. Check him out on wiki. Better yet, get a video of his last concert. It will blow you away. The HCP holder comment is not far from the truth. If he came at me with feces smeared all over his body, blood streaming down his face, throwing feces, screaming and punching and swinging that microphone at light speed trying to brain me, the obit would have mentioned me shooting him. But nah, he just kept on taking drugs that day and it killed him. The funeral was interesting.
I saw the video in college on my dorm floor in someone's room. I had never heard of him until that time. He started out with a gstring and it quickly progressed to him taking it off, squatting down and pooping in the floor, all while screaming some metal song called "Look Into My Eyes and Hate Me". He then gave everyone a reason to hate him. Someone gave him a stuffed animal, he wiped with it. He then started trying to rub up on some women, and they were running from him. He then went and got his own feces and started throwing it at them. The entire crowd got afraid and they took it to the streets.
He took some more anonymous pills to calm him down, and an obviously gay guy came up to him and did a rectal on him, walking him down the street that way to comfort him. The place they played had every instrument trashed, the place was destroyed, and now this guy is walking down the streets of new york getting fingered by a stranger.
Rock on!
The ghost of GG Alin?

This is terrible news. I found out today that they were a father's day gift. I am a Willie Nelson fan. I last saw him at Funfest in Kingsport. Just seeing a legend like this would be worth it. I assumed they would pack it out like they did in Kingsport.
